Changes in Next Year’s Schedule Wonderful Opportunity - Collaboration For Student Achievement

This month, the Peninsula School Board approved the contract between the district and the teachers’ association.  One very important feature of this contract provides staff a one-hour late start every Wednesday morning for the purpose of school improvement planning and collaboration.  Next year, on Wednesdays, school will start for elementary students at 10:00am.

This feature of the contract is applauded by both administration and teaching staff.  This past year, all district schools entered into a comprehensive School Improvement Planning process.   This additional time on Wednesdays will give us a chance to put energy into developing and implementing strategies to accomplish our goals.

Our commitment to you is to make productive use of the time.  We will report what we are doing and how it is benefiting students.  We appreciate the efforts you will need to make to accommodate this change in your schedule.  We are confident that the time will be a valuable investment in increased student learning for all of our students.
